Types of IOLs
Monofocal IOL
They correct distant vision. For near vision glasses are required.
Extended depth of focus (EDOF) IOL
EDOF lenses are a new technology in the treatment of presbyopia. The basic optical principal is to create a single elongated focal point to enhance the depth of focus. These IOLs enhance intermediate and near visual performance, while minimally affecting distance vision.
Toric Monofocal IOL
Toric monofocal IOLs correct corneal astigmatism of the eye. Distant vision astigmatism is corrected, patient does not need glasses for distant vision, but near vision glasses are required.
Multifocal IOL
They correct distant and near vision both. Patient is free from spectacles for distant & near vision both. Intermediate vision is slightly blurry.
